When: Saturday September 24th, 2016
Where: Crowell Park | Brattleboro, VT
Time: Registration is at 9am, Walk begins at 10am, Refreshments and Prizes will be at 11am
Why: The money you raise will help homeless and neglected animals in need! As if that’s not enough, you’ll get a tasty ice cream cone from Brattleboro’s very own Blueberry Haus, yum yum! Raise $50 and you get an awesome T-Shirt, designed by local teen, Aidan O’Brien-Turnage.
What’s the walk like? We’ll be registering folks and handing out T-shirts starting at 9 am at Crowell Park on Western Ave. in Brattleboro. At 10 am, we’ll gather behind our big banner and walk down Cedar St, through the Retreat trails into town and back up Oak Street to High Street to return to Crowell Park. It’s about 1.5 miles on mostly level ground, some pavement and some trail. It’s not a race! The real competition is…how much money can you raise to help animals in need? We have great prizes for our top fundraisers, and ice cream for everyone, dog biscuits for every dog! Scroll to the bottom to see the list of prizes.
Bring your dog along — or not: We’d love to have you bring your dog if he or she gets along well with others and would enjoy it. If not, please leave your four-legged friend at home, but join us on the walk — the more people walking, the more we show our love for animals and the joy they bring to our lives. All dogs MUST be leashed. (No flexi-leads, please, or we’ll get all tangled up.)
Can’t be there on the day? We’ll still take your money! All donations help animals in need, so don’t be shy.
Scroll down, you’ll see our team members — then, click the JOIN THE TEAM link at the right. (Or if you don’t see it, just CLICK HERE!)
Sign up either by creating a Crowdrise account, or using a Facebook, Twitter, Google or LinkedIn login. Be sure to add a photo so people can find your profile! You can then edit your personal fundraising profile, use the Manage Campaign tab to solicit donations, and use the Team tab to invite others to become Fundraisers. Don’t want to make your own page? Make a generous donation to someone who is already walking…but you will raise more if you ask friends, family and colleagues to donate. And top fundraisers win some pretty awesome prizes, never mind the satisfaction of helping lots of animals!
How can you best use Crowdrise to solicit donations? Here are some tips:

WCHS helps stray, abandoned, neglected and surrendered pets by giving them a second chance at a healthy, happy life. WCHS animals receive excellent health care from our staff and local veterinarians. Because we are committed to reducing the number of unwanted animals in Windham County, all animals are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. WCHS does not euthanize for time or space – all adoptable animals stay safely at WCHS until the right new home comes along.
