ABOUT US (Cont'd)
Pet Behavior Counseling
Sometimes pets don't behave as we'd like them to! The staff at WCHS can help. We'll gladly answer any questions
you have about pet behavior. And if your dog barks excessively or your cat is not using its litter box, we'll help you correct those
problem behaviors, too.
Pet Food Assistance
Our pet food assistance program ensures that pets in our community are being properly fed by distributing free
pet food to qualifying residents of Windham County.
Spay/Neuter Assistance
Spaying and neutering pets is essential to reducing the number of homeless pets. But these procedures can be
costly for families on a tight budget. The WCHS will help low income pet owners with these costs.
Vermont Spay/Neuter Incentive
Program
This program enables income eligible people that provide care for cats and dogs to receive financial assistance to have these
animals neutered and vaccinated. Most of the vets in the area are part of the program which only charges $10 for spaying or neutering.
Call WCHS for details on obtaining a certificate for the program.
Rabies Clinics
Each year, with the cooperation of local veterinarians, the WCHS operates low-cost rabies clinics throughout Windham
County. Rabies is on the rise in Vermont and can be deadly for pets and humans, so don't neglect to have your pet vaccinated. Call
or check the Events page to find out when our next clinic will be held.
