Donations to the Windham County Humane Society are even more important than you may realize.  That's because WCHS is 100% community funded.  We receive no funding from the National Humane Society or from any other national organization.  In order to fulfill our mission of caring for animals, we rely completely on the support of people like you.  Here are some of the ways in which you can help.

Honorary/Memorial Donations
  - Make a donation to WCHS in honor of someone special in your life.
  - In lieu of gifts for birthdays, etc., ask family and friends to donate to WCHS instead.  Acknowledgments will
be sent to the donors as well as the person being honored.
  - Make a donation in memory of a loved one or beloved pet.  Acknowledgments will be sent to the family of
the loved one as well as the donor.

Planned Giving Program
When you sit down to do your estate planning or make your will, think about making a gift to WCHS.  Your gift will work hard to provide shelter for homeless pets, education programs for the community, help for abused animals, and so much more.  And, your gift is tax-deductible from your estate.  For further details, please give us a call.

"A Home For Life" Program
When you love a pet it's natural to worry about what will happen to your companion when you pass away.  But with just a little planning, you can assure a happy life and a good home for your pet long after you are gone.  To enroll your pet, the minimum donation for one pet is $5,000 and $2,500 for each additional pet.  Once enrolled, WCHS agrees to keep updated files on your pet while you are living; work with you to ensure that your pets are not left unattended during their transition from your care to ours; screen potential adopters for the best possible placement for your pets; and provide loving care with a specially-trained foster family if a permanent home that meets your specifications cannot be found within a reasonable time period.  For an additional $5,000 per pet, you can also purchase Lifetime Medical Care, which will ensure that there will always be enough money to meet your pet's medical needs, including surgery, cancer  treatments, and other costly problems that pets sometimes face.  Even if the cost exceeds $5,000, your pet will continue to receive free veterinary care.
