GIVING OPPORTUNITIES (Cont'd)
Animal Sponsorship
Donations are needed on those occasions when animals are being held at the shelter due to legal matters, such
as animal cruelty or neglect. Because cruelty or neglect court cases may take a while before they are settled, funds are
needed to feed, house and, if needed, provide medical care for the affected animals.
Betsy Wheeler Memorial Fund
For Animals
This fund was set up to honor Betsy Wheeler, a long-time volunteer who passed away in June of 2004. Betsy was
always full of love, compassion and caring for the animals at the shelter and was a good friend to the shelter staff. The money
in this fund helps pay for life-saving surgical procedures and medication for the pets of Windham County families in need of financial
assistance.
Spay/Neuter Program
Our state-of-the-art surgical suite was opened in November,
2004. Dr. Jennifer Ruopp is volunteering her time to spay and neuter our animals before they are adopted. There are significant
costs involved in running the surgical suite, and donations to help defray these costs are always welcome.
